Styles make fights. One may have the ability to withstand a barrage of punches, or the cat-like reflexes to slip whatever comes his way.Whatever the style, at some point in a match, you will have to show the crowd if you can take a punch and continue with your game plan. Whatever the style of Mike Tyson’s opponents, he proved a complex package to deal with. His tight defensive posture, with the rapid head and feet movement, allowed him to work his way to the inside where he viciously delivered punches that most certainly loosened the screws that fastened the internal organs to its protective casings. His earliest training with Cus D”Amato and Kevin Rooney instilled in him the importance of sticking to his Peek-a-Boo style with his hands high, and the head constantly moving to deny the opponent a target. This video shows how a guy standing 5′, 10″ high could survive in the heavyweight division.
